Bombay

Here's the thing: when I grow up I want to be Rukmini Bhaya Nair. This woman, apart from being beautiful and extremely nice (simpática), is an intellectual machine. She produces like crazy (= is extraordinarily productive). Rukmini gave two lectures on this her first visit to Latin America (and I attended both) in her pretty, heavily accented English.* Perhaps her anxiety to transmit all the ideas** in her fervid brain made the lectures a little confusing and too full of material. But none of this detracts from her brilliance. What healthy envy I feel ..."

*Translator's note: this must be another reference to a Cockney accent (just kidding!).
**Translator's note: green and furious?

I sent this translation to my sister (the aforementioned RBN) because I thought she would like the compliments. Hope the translation is adequate.

PS If you liked High Fidelity (the book, not the film), you'll love Nick Hornby's new(er) book, 31 songs. In this connection, also see
